Safety systems available for different fall heights Playground Safety Surfacing

ASTM F1292 requires every playground surface to have a specific critical height value according to the height of playground equipment. This height represents the fall height for the equipment. SurfacePlay® supports many different fall heights, with customizable shock-absorbing pads under the surfacing. Customize fall height for up to 11 feet of protection. Choose from recreational surfacing, with no impact absorption, or feature more layers for added security.

As you can see in Figure A below, the SurfacePlay® system is comprised of three layers: a black protective shockpad made of 100% polypropylene, a white polyester fiber which protects the shockpad and keeps the surfacing from sliding, and the recreational carpet on top. For higher fall height protection, add more layers of the polypropylene pad (see Figure B). The pads connect like puzzle pieces, so installation is always extremely easy (see Figure C). SurfacePlay® surfacing is also permeable to water.
